When she turned fourteen, Kelly took a step back from mainstream dancing and showed interest in cheerleading. But stardom struck Kelly through her daughters when she entered them into the dance reality show ‘Dance Moms’. The show first aired on July 13, 2011.

Kelly and her daughters, Paige, and Brooke, were a cast member until the start of the fourth season that aired on January 1, 2014. However, Kelly’s mid-season departure from the show occurred when she assaulted the owner of ALDC, Abby. The dispute began with an argument and quickly turned ugly with Abby filing a lawsuit against her. The fight not only grabbed the attention of millions of viewers but also stirred the media and was aired in the episode ‘Big Trouble in the Big Apple’. Brooke and Paige were removed from the team and refused to ever return to the show.

Kelly became popular on the show for her sarcastic comments and for her outspoken disapproval of Abby’s neglect towards her children. She often felt that Abby had victimized her daughters since she disliked Kelly. The first four seasons of the show gathered huge TRP’s but as the seasons progressed some of the original star cast like Kelly and Christi left the show leading to a drop in ratings.

At the age of 45 Kelly takes good care of her appearance and health. Kelly turned out to be one of the most supportive mothers on the reality show. She would encourage her children to make their own choices and protected them from any negativity. She permitted Brooke to try out cheerleading instead of participating in a competition, as she desired to give her daughter the freedom to make her own informed decisions and didn’t want to be the cause of Brooke ever regretting anything in her life. She openly highlighted Abby’s unjust selection of Maddie over the other children on the show and stood up for both her daughters.

Kelly has trained in dancing for thirty-seven years and is on a mission to live her dream of stardom through her children. She places her duties as a mother at top priority above everything. She is a housewife and often travels with her children for their shows and rehearsals. Her close friends are Christina Lokasiak and Holly Fraizer. She is a good cook and her favorite family meal is chicken potpie.
