Katya Elise Henry

In the early years of her life, Katya Elise Henry and her family lived all across Minnesota and beyond. In fact, she graduated from the Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, and it was there that she had enrolled in the cheerleading squad, taking the first step to become the fitness icon that she is now. After developing her cardio routines and flexibility through cheerleading, it was her mother’s guidance which set her on the correct course for the type of body Katya Henry wanted for herself. She was advised by her mom on what exercises to do, what to eat, and what food supplements would be ideal for her. Henry recalls the experience with fondness, “I was blessed with a wonderful mother who is also, luckily, a personal trainer.” It is quite evident that her mom greatly inspired her to follow her dreams. Katya first posted on Instagram way back in late January 2013; it was a radiant photograph of herself in an oversized t-shirt. She used to be a nanny then, working out whenever her busy schedule would allow. She started posting photographs of her early progress soon after and got immediate recognition for her glutes and well-toned abs. Henry is partnered with fitness and supplement brand EHPlabs, and has been featured on events, such as Joe Weider’s ‘Olympia Weekend’ and ‘Body Power Expo’ to name a few.

Katya Elise Henry comes from a multi-ethnic background, with her family having African American, Native American (Sioux and Potawatomi tribes), Swedish, and Russian ancestry. They are the perfect example of the incredible diversity of modern-day progressive America. She was born on June 14, 1994 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, to Derick Anthony Henry and Tawnya Lynn Nelson. Her father worked as a professional bodyguard for over two decades, providing security to many well-known names in the entertainment industry. Katya has two sisters, Tanaya and Gabrielle. Six years older than Katya, Tanaya is a model herself, and also an actress and accomplished jewellery designer. Katya Henry started dating singer Austin Mahone in early 2016. In the summer of that year, the couple took a road trip together to Tampa, Florida. In February 2017, Mahone confirmed the rumours which had been flying around for a few months that he and Katya have called it quits. Katya has several tattoos: a cross on the back of her neck, the word ‘Blessed’ on her right hip. She has a quote by Emme Woodhull-Bäche tattooed on the left side of her rib cage that reads, “Thorns and Stings / And Those Such Things / Just Make Stronger / Our Angel Wings.”
