Kathleen Fuentes

Kathleen Fuentes was born in Miami, Florida, USA, on January 27, 1992. She is married to Daniel Fuentes since November 22, 2010, who is her best friend’s brother.

She started her YouTube channel ‘KathleenLights’ on January 26, 2013, and started posting videos on makeup tips. Initially she struggled to create her own niche. While her videos were getting views, it wasn’t until ‘Get Ready With Me! Date Night Makeup ft. Naked Basics Palette’ published on April 10, 2013, that she started gaining the attention of viewers. The video went on to get 1.3 million views and catapulted her to the status of one of the top beauty vloggers. Some of her more popular videos following that were ‘Unboxing- April 2013 Ipsy Bag- First Impressions- Is it worth it?’, ‘Products I Regret Buying!’, and ‘My MUST HAVE Makeup Products!’ which received thousands of views.

On May 29, 2013, she posted the video ‘The Husband Tag!’ and on July 8, 2013, the video ‘Husband Does My Makeup Tag!’ which received over 1.7 million views each, making them two of the most viewed videos on her channel till then. Kathleen Fuentes’ videos are characterized by her trying to promote affordable makeup and also to test the claims made by brands.

Her YouTube fame helped Kathleen Fuentes to collaborate with the brand ‘Colorpop Cosmetics’ in 2014. On November 2014, she released the lipstick ‘Lumiere’ with the brand. In 2015, her collaboration with them led to the release of two more collections including, ‘Where The Light Is Eyeshadow Quad’ and ‘Where the Night Is’. The next year she worked with them again to create another lipstick named ‘Lumiere 2’, three ‘Ultra Satin’ liquid lipsticks, and gel liners etc. In 2017, she continued her long-standing relationship with the brand going on to release an extension of ‘Where the Night Is’ collection, named the ‘Aquarius’ bundle.

Kathleen went on to collaborate with ‘Ofra Cosmetics’ in 2015, bringing out the lipsticks ‘Miami Fever’ and ‘Havana Nights’. She also partnered with ‘Morphe Brushes’ to release a limited-edition eyeshadow palette on October 25, 2016. The beauty expert also brought out a highlighter palette in collaboration with ‘Makeup Geek’ in 2016. Perhaps the biggest milestone in her career was reached with the release of her own cruelty-free nail polish line ‘KL Polish’. It has become one of the hottest brands of 2017 and is targeted to give users affordable and in-style polish that can cater to all skin tones.

On September 2017, while playing video games on ‘Snapchat’ with YouTuber Jaclyn Hill, Kathleen accidentally used the word “nigga”. The video posted by Jaclyn received severe backlash and both stars have since apologized and explained that it was an accident that happened as they were drunk.
