In 2002, she gave birth to a baby girl Lila Grace Moss Hack. She bore this child with Editor Jefferson Hack.

She has been romantically involved with actor Johnny Depp and former Libertines member Pete Doherty.

In 2001, she married Jamie Hince, guitarist of the band, ‘The Kills’.

Kate Moss was born in Croydon, Greater London, to travel agent Peter Edward Moss and Linda Rosina, a barmaid. She has three siblings.

Raised in Addiscombe, a district in south London, she attained her preliminary education from Ridgeway Primary School. Thereafter, she enrolled at the Riddlesdown Collegiate. When she was thirteen, her parents divorced.

In 1988, at the age of fourteen, she was spotted at the JFK Airport, New York City, by Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm Model Management. Sarah was the pioneer of the ‘waif’ look’

Her career in modelling began in 1990 as she posed for black-and-white photographs for the British magazine, ‘The Face’. The pictures were taken by Corinne Day who titled the shoot as, ‘The 3rd Summer of Love’.

At the age of eighteen, she was the face of the brand ‘Calvin Klein’. She was part of the advertisement campaign for the perfume, ‘Obsession’, for which she modelled with Mark Wahlberg. The advertisement gave her a major breakthrough as she was noticed all around the world. While some acknowledged and appreciated her skinny appearance, the rest scorned her off as anorexic.

In January 1993, she was featured for the first time on the British Vogue magazine. Within a period of two months, she appeared on the cover of the same magazine.

When being voluptuous and curvaceous was the order of the day, with the likes of Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Elle Macpherson donning the same, Moss defied all rules and became the anti-supermodel of the 1990s.

In 1995, she was awarded the ‘Fashion Personality of the Year’ award.

In 2005, she received the Fashion Icon award, which was conferred upon her by the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

She is the proud recipient of the prestigious Model of the Year awards at the prestigious British Fashion Awards for 2006.

In 2007, she was bestowed upon the Sexiest Woman NME Award.

She has been enlisted in the ‘Sexiest Woman List’ by various magazines.
