Kate Hudson

She married, Chris Robinson, the frontman for The Black Crowes in 2000 and had a son with him. The couple divorced in 2007.

She is currently in a relationship with singer Matthew Bellamy. The couple is engaged and has a son together.

Kate Hudson was born to the legendary actress Goldie Hawn and comedian cum actor Bill Hudson. Her parents divorced when she was very young and she was raised by her mother and her long term partner Kurt Russell. She is of mixed descent.

She attended the Crossroads Performing Arts high school in Santa Monica and graduated in 1997. She also attended summer training with the renowned Williamstown Theater Festival in Massachusetts.

She enrolled at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University but chose to drop out in order to pursue a career in acting.

She began her television career when she bagged the role of Cory in an episode of the teen drama television series ‘Party of Five’ in 1996. She appeared in one episode of the television drama series ‘EZ Streets’ the next year.

In one of her first film roles, she starred as a rising Hollywood starlet in the comedy drama ‘Desert Blue’ in 1998. The movie was a minor one and did not do much to launch her career.

She got the opportunity to be a part of the ensemble cast of the comedy drama ‘200 Cigarettes’ in 1999, which also included the actors Ben Affleck, Courtney love, Paul Rudd and Elvis Costello. However, the film was a flop.

She got her big break in 2000 when she landed the role of Penny Lane in the comedy drama ‘Almost Famous’. In spite of not being a box office hit, the movie was highly acclaimed and Kate won several awards and nominations.

Now that she had gained wider visibility, she was flooded with film offers and appeared in several movies within the next couple of years, the notable ones being ‘About Adam’ (2000), ‘The Cutting Room’ (2001), and ‘The Four Feathers’ (2002).

She is best known for her role in ‘Almost Famous’ which gave her career the breakthrough she sought. After being appreciated for her role and winning numerous awards, she went on to become a well established actress.
