Kamil McFadden

Kamil was born on September 10, 1996, in Atlanta, Georgia. He has an older brother named Kimario who is a professional football player. A casual basketball and football player, Kamil is a fan of the basketball team Cleveland Cavaliers and the football team Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kamil is also interested in photography, and would like to become a credentialed photographer like Kevin Durant. Kamil was homeschooled and had only a few friends as a teenager.

Kamil started performing in local plays when he was only six. At the age of eight, Kamil joined a theater group called Youth Ensemble of Atlanta, where he refined his skills in acting, dancing, and singing. During this time, Kamil also got the opportunity to go abroad for a 6-day tour in China. However, Kamil and his family had to endure hardship when he first moved to Los Angeles, California, with his mother in 2015, at the age of 15. Financial status of his family was not very good at the time, and Kamil kept auditioning for different roles to help his family financially. He is grateful to Disney that they finally found the right role for him to play. According to Kamil, even in his theatre days, he always knew that he wanted to be on TV, as TV is "global". The fact that anybody in the world can watch him on TV and smile watching his performance inspires him to perform better.

The success of ‘K.C. Undercover’ not only made Kamil McFadden famous, but also taught him to be more confident about himself. He feels somewhat connected to the role of Ernie that he is playing. He knows how it feels to be an underdog, just like Ernie. He says that he can be a bit clumsy and goofy at times, like Ernie, and that people don't always take him seriously. But when the right time comes, he can be serious about the things he needs to be. However, he also mentioned that his tech knowledge is only basic compared to his on-screen genius persona. Being a Disney fan who grew up watching popular Disney shows, Kamil feels honored that one day other kids will reminisce his show and his character.

Kamil is active on social media and has 137k followers on Instagram. Many of his posts on social media are tagged #MelaninMonday. Kamil clarifies that it stands for spreading love and positivity in a world full of hatred and discrimination. The movement was originally created to showcase the beauty and diversity of people of all colors and Kamil is proud to be a part of the movement. In September 2016, Kamil, along with his on-screen sister Trinitee Stokes, distributed backpacks stuffed with school supplies to needy school kids as part of the "Summer of Service" campaign organized by Disney and Baby2Baby.

Kamil McFadden considers the cast of his show his extended family and shares a special relationship with his on-screen sister Zendaya, who he says, has become a real sister to him. They hang out together and go to movies and shows. He says that the way their TV characters act is very much like the way they act in real life. As Zendaya is a producer on the show, Kamil also tries to learn from her how to manage a situation and take the show to the direction she wants to. He wants to have his own television show one day and would like to use this experience when he himself turns a producer. He likes the family atmosphere, and intends to create a sitcom that a family can watch together.
