Kalin White

Kalin White was an undiscovered R&B crooner before his collaboration with rapper and beatmaker, Myles Parrish, to make their hit single ‘Summertime Love’ in 2011. At that time they were recording their music in Myles’ bedroom and doing their own production. The duo did a number of songs together that made them a household name with Hip Hop enthusiasts. Eventually, they signed a deal with Republic Records to release their debut EP ‘Chasing Dreams’ in 2012. Their second EP ‘K&M University’ followed soon the same year and made them a name to reckon with in the music world. It was their third EP, ‘Chase Dreams’ that entered at number six on the Rap Album chart of 2014 and made them famous. Their popularity soared and their fourth EP ‘Dedication’, which was out in December 2014, was loved by fans.

Besides being active on social media, they toured the United States of America in 2015 to reach out to fans. They release their self titled debut album in November the same year. The duo was nominated for the Teen Choice Award in the category of ‘Choice Music: Next Big Thing’, but lost out to contemporary singer Bea Miller. They did another ‘Just For Fun’ tour with ‘Timeflies’ later in the year, but things soured between the duo and they parted ways in March 2016.

Kalin took a break for some time after the split and came back in September 2016 with his first post break up single solo ‘Twister’, which was directed by David Camarena. His success prompted him to come out with his debut solo album ‘Chapter 21’ in October 2016. From there on there has been no looking back for Kalin White. He further gained fame from the photographs and videos he uploaded on his Vine and Instagram account to reach out to fans. Today, he has over 600,000 followers on instagram. He is also active on Twitter, where he has over 275,000 followers. His estimated net worth is $ 100,000.

Kalin was born on January 4, 1995 in the Bay Area of California to a French father and Mexican mother. He grew up in Hayward, California, with his mother, who was single. He has three half brothers and two half sisters and makes very little mention of his father. He describes his mother as his best friend and has no regrets about his childhood, even though he did not have much.

He studied in Castro Valley High School, where he enjoyed playing basketball in his spare time. In fact, at one point of time he contemplated being a member of the NBA. Besides his passion for sports, he loved Hip Hop as a child and was influenced by the likes of Michael Jackson, Brian McKnight and Chris Brown. Though he always liked singing and partying, he never got exposure till he sang at his cousin’s birthday party, when he was 14. Currently he is single and not in a serious relationship with anyone.
