Julianne Hough was in a short relationship with country singer Chuck Wicks from August 2008 to November 2009. Their break-up was mutual and it inspired her to compose the song ‘Is That So Wrong’.
After her breakup with Chuck Wicks, she dated radio personality and TV host Ryan Seacrest sometime from 2010 to 2013.
In February 2014, it came to light that she was dating NHL professional hockey player Brooks Laich since December 2013. Julianne Hough and Laich got engaged on August 18, 2015.
Born on 20th July 1988, Julianne is the daughter of Marianne and Bruce Hough. Julianne is the youngest of the five children in her family. She was born in Orem, Utah, in a family of dancers.
She, along with her brother Derek Hough has been champion of 'Dancing with the Stars', multiple times. Her three older sisters are Sharee, Marabeth, and Katherine.
She started training formally at the Center Stage Performing Arts along with Josh Murillo in Latin Ballroom. She began to participate in dancing competitions at the age of nine. She was just 10 when her parents divorced; she along with her brother Derek was sent to London to live and study with Corky and Shirly Ballas.
She joined her brother, Derek at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts where they received training in theater, song, gymnastics and several forms of dance, including ballet, jazz and tap.
She was the youngest American dancer to win both International Latin Youth Champion and Junior World Latin Champion at the Blackpool Dance Festival.
Hough’s career has seen an amazing number of highs. She became one of the ‘Million Dollar Dancers’ on the ABC game show called, 'Show Me The Money' in 2006.
She went on to bag the trophy of the renowned dance reality show ‘Dancing with the Stars - Season 5’, and became the youngest professional dancer to win the show. But once wasn’t enough for the dancer as she won the title of professional champion at the same show in November 2007.
In July 2008, she received a nomination in the category of "Outstanding Choreography" at the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards.
As it would turn out to be, ‘Dancing with the Stars’ played a very important role in her career as an exceptional dancer and choreographer.
She turned down season 7 of the show due to abdominal pain. But, as it turns out, she did return for the eighth season, with her then boyfriend and partner Chuck Wicks.
A lesser known fact is that Hough started her acting career with 'Harry Porter: The Sorcerer’s Stone' in 2001. She appeared in her first leading role as Ariel Moore in the 2011 remake of ‘Footloose’, opposite Kenny Wormald.
She appeared in the role of Sandy Young in Fox's presentation of the musical ‘Grease’ on January 31, 2016.
