Julianna Margulies was born as Julianna Luisa Margulies on June 8, 1966 in Spring Valley, New York, USA. She has two sisters, Rachel and Alexandra Margulies. Her mother Francesca was a eurythmy teacher and a ballet dancer while her father, Paul, was a philosopher, writer and a famous Madison Avenue advertising executive.
The actress attended Green Meadow Waldorf School and then studied at High Mowing School. She then obtained her BA degree from Sarah Lawrence College.
Talking about her love life, Margulies was in a relationship with Hollywood actor Ron Eldard till 2003. After separating from him, she married Keith Lieberthal on November 10, 2007. The following year, the couple had a son, Kieran Lindsay Lieberthal. As of now, the American beauty resides with her family in Manhattan, New York City.
Julianna Margulies first acted in Steven Seagal's movie ‘Out for Justice’. She then appeared in two episodes of ‘Homicide: Life on the Street’ in 1994. The same year, she was cast as Nurse Carol Hathaway in the medical drama ‘ER’. After this, she did the movies ‘Traveller’, ‘Paradise Road’, ’The Newton Boys’ and ‘A Price Above Rubies’.
