Julianna Margulies

Julianna Margulies was born as Julianna Luisa Margulies on June 8, 1966 in Spring Valley, New York, USA. She has two sisters, Rachel and Alexandra Margulies. Her mother Francesca was a eurythmy teacher and a ballet dancer while her father, Paul, was a philosopher, writer and a famous Madison Avenue advertising executive.

The actress attended Green Meadow Waldorf School and then studied at High Mowing School. She then obtained her BA degree from Sarah Lawrence College.

Talking about her love life, Margulies was in a relationship with Hollywood actor Ron Eldard till 2003. After separating from him, she married Keith Lieberthal on November 10, 2007. The following year, the couple had a son, Kieran Lindsay Lieberthal. As of now, the American beauty resides with her family in Manhattan, New York City.

Julianna Margulies first acted in Steven Seagal's movie ‘Out for Justice’. She then appeared in two episodes of ‘Homicide: Life on the Street’ in 1994. The same year, she was cast as Nurse Carol Hathaway in the medical drama ‘ER’. After this, she did the movies ‘Traveller’, ‘Paradise Road’, ’The Newton Boys’ and ‘A Price Above Rubies’. Then the actress voiced Neera in the flick ‘Dinosaur’ in 2000. A year later, she did the miniseries ‘The Mists of Avalon’ as well as the TV movie ‘Jenifer’.

She was then cast in the films ‘The Man from Elysian Fields’, ‘Evelyn’ and ‘Ghost Ship’. In the year 2003, Margulies starred in the drama ‘Hitler: The Rise of Evil’. The following year, she had a lead role in the series ‘The Grid’. The American beauty then got featured in the miniseries ‘The Lost Room’ and the movies ‘The Darwin Awards’, ‘The Armenian Genocide’, ‘Snakes on a Plane’ and ‘Beautiful Ohio’ in 2006.

Three years later, she was offered the miniseries ‘The Lost Room’. Then in 2008, Margulies was cast as Elizabeth Canterbury in the program ‘Canterbury's Law’. She began playing the lead role of Alicia Florrick in the series ‘The Good Wife’ in 2009. In 2017, she acted in the films ‘The Upside’ and ‘Three Christs’. She also appeared in an episode of ‘Nightcap’ the same year.
