Juanita Vanoy

Juanita Vanoy was born on June 13, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She was raised in South Side Chicago and spent most of her childhood days there. She tied the knot with Michael Jordan in Las Vegas. Together, the couple has three kids: Jeffrey Jordan, Marcus Jordan, and Jasmine Jordan. Following her divorce from Jordan, Juanita is presently single.

Juanita Vanoy started her career as a model during her teenage years. After modelling for several projects, she began working as an executive secretary (as well as model) for American Bar Association. She captured the headlines when she got into a relationship with former professional basketball and baseball player, Michael Jordan. Vanoy and her ex-husband founded the Michael and Juanita Jordan Endowment Fund, an organization that supports charity. After this, Vanoy started her career in the real estate business.

Juanita Vanoy met Michael Jordan for the first time in 1984, at a Chicago Bennigan’s restaurant. After a few weeks, she again met him at a friend’s party. Soon the couple started dating each other and in 1987, Michael proposed to Juanita at Nick’s Fish Market, Chicago. This proposal resulted in their engagement which was however, called off later on. Fortunately after a year or so, Vanoy and Jordan decided to marry after the former became pregnant with latter’s child.

On September 2, 1989, the couple got married in Las Vegas in the presence of their son, Jeffrey Michael Jordan, who was already ten months old then. After marriage, Vanoy gave birth to two more children, Marcus Jordan and Jasmine Jordan. Then in 2002, Vanoy filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. However, she reconciled shortly with Jordan after she withdrew the divorce petition. After some time, she filed for divorce again which was finalized on December 29, 2006. Vanoy received a whopping $168 million as the divorce settlement and this was the largest celebrity divorce settlement of that time.
