Josh was born on December 27, 1990, in California. His full name is Josh Jovanny Leyva. He grew up with his younger brother named Mark. Josh has featured his mother in many of his videos.
Josh and the popular dancer Olivia Chachi Gonzales dated each other for three years. Chachi appeared in many of Josh’s videos. Toward the end of 2017, they announced their break up. Both Chachi and Josh released back-to-back vlogs sharing their side of the story regarding the breakup. Many say that the breakup was caused due to his increasing closeness with transgender beauty vlogger Nikita Dragun. However, neither of them has ever spoken anything about it. Nikita too has appeared in a few of Josh’s videos.
Spanish was the first language that Josh learned to speak. Being out of practice, his fluency in the language is somehow broken now.
Josh grew up with a passion for acting and wanted to be cast in a big 'Hollywood' production. Josh realized that comedy is his forte, and later took to YouTube to showcase his talent.
On his first channel ‘YoMuscleBoii,’ he posts comedy content. The videos on the channel soon caught the attention of many and by the end of 2012, his channel had garnered its first 50 thousand subscribers. Some of the videos like 'Running Into My Ex-Girlfriend,’ 'My Date to Prom,' 'NBA Dunks On My Girlfriend,' and 'Driving With A Gay Cholo' have crossed over a million views. Josh got his mother featured in a video titled 'Teaching My Mom Slang,' which was viewed by more than a million viewers. In one of his comedy sketch videos, Josh imitated former member of the English boyband ‘One Direction,’ Zayn Malik. Josh aped the artist’s expressions while explaining his departure from the band.
In 2013, Josh created his second channel ‘yojoshyboii,’ which he later changed to ‘Josh Leyva Vlogs.’ The channel hosts many of his travel diaries, story times, and question-answer videos. It has over 230 thousand subscribers.
In 2011, he appeared as himself in his self-titled reality series. He directed and co-wrote the 2017 comedy miniseries ‘Gaylo Returns.’
Josh is equally famous on other social media accounts as well. His 'Instagram' account has over 530 thousand followers, while his 'Twitter' handle has over 100 thousand subscribers.
