Jojo Siwa

Jojo Siwa started to dance at a tender age of 5 initially at her mother’s dance school. Her talent became evident to the world when she competed in the season’s series of AUDC (Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition) as the youngest of the lot and she ranked among top 5 of the finalists but she got eliminated within a week.

She didn’t get disheartened and started to audition for Abby Lee Miller’s ALDC competition and got selected in 2015. Simultaneously in 2015-2016 Jojo Siwa and her mom started to appear in the reality show Dance Moms 5th-6th season and went on to win in that series .While performing in this show she got selected in Abby Lee Dance company’s elite team replacing Chloe.

She also performed as guest star in ‘Make It Pop’, ‘Bizardvark’ (Disney Channel) and ‘The Thundermans’ in 2016. Later Nickelodeon signed a contract with her to perform for their channel. In 2016, she won the Industry Dance Award as favourite dancer in 17 years age group category.

Her first song video upload on YouTube ‘I Can Make U Dance’ became very popular and Jojo Siwa further justified her singing talent with the profound success of her single “Boomerang”. In this particular song she raises her voice against all the negative comments shared through social media. She further states that one should not listen to the haters but come back with a bang and fulfil their dreams.

As she gained popularity, her signature colourful bows and accessories became a fashion trend. In 2013, she released her exclusive Jo Jo Collection (Dancewear) with Tilt Dancewear (shop) and in 2016 she signed a business contract with Claire’s. She now has her own JoJo bow line in their stores.

Certain schools in USA have banned her colourful bows for their students. The Pioneer posted that the school authorities found these to be obnoxious, humongous and breaching the uniform code. A recent controversy arose just after the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards when many fans of Jacob Sartorius stated that JoJo Siwa had rigged and paid to win.

Jojo Siwa was born on May 19, 2003 at Omaha, Nebraska to Tom Siwa and Jessalynn Siwa. Her father is a Chiropractor at Northwest Chiropractic and her mother runs her own dance school. Her mother is very supportive and has also performed with her at numerous reality shows.

Her actual hair colour is brown but her mother has been bleaching it since childhood.

Jojo Siwa states that most of her bows are handmade by her mother. She has an elder, Jayden Siwa, and he is an Instagram star and celebrity dancer. She was initially home schooled but at present she is attending 8th Grade and resides with her mother in Los Angeles.

People started to hear about her relationship with Matty B who is a rap artist and internet star after she starred in one of his videos. At present she is more focussed in her career. She loves hip-hop and jazz dance styles and dislikes ballet.
