Jesse Underhill was born on July 1, 1998, in Hood River, Oregon and grew up alongside three brothers, Aaron, Levi, and Issac, and one sister, Rachel. Among his siblings, Levi and Rachel are active on social media. Levi (born May 26, 1995), who is about three years older than Jesse, has his own TikTok account which he uses to post lip-syncing and vlogging videos. Jesse Underhill posted for the first time on his Instagram account in July 2013. It was a video of him running around and hitting his siblings. His next post was a photograph of himself from when he was a child. Over the course of the ensuing years, his Instagram page grew exponentially. During this period, he became a well-known TikTok star as well, which also contributed to the growth of his page. He currently has about 600 thousand followers on Instagram and each of his posts on the platform gets tens of thousands of views and thousands of comments.

Underhill is one of the most successful users of TikTok and had been using musical.ly before the merger between the two companies.
