Jennifer Grant is a popular American actress
Jennifer Grant born at
Jennifer Diane Grant was born in Burbank, California, on 26th February 1966. Both her parents, Cary Grant and Dyan Cannon, were renowned Hollywood actors. They divorced when she was only two years of age. She did her schooling from Brentwood School in Los Angeles and later finished her graduation from Stanford University in 1987.
Though Jennifer had a close relationship with her father, he did not want her to become an actress. Thus she tried several different jobs over the years, which included working as a waitress, chef, and in a law firm. After her father’s death, she inherited half of his estate, which was worth millions of dollars. The other half went to her stepmother Barbara Harris Grant.
She married Randy Zisk in 1993. However, they divorced in 1996. She gave birth to a son, Cary Benjamin—named after her father—in 2008.
Despite being the daughter of a Hollywood film star, Jennifer Grant had to struggle a lot during her early years. After her graduation from high school, she used to work as a baby sitter, store clerk, cashier, and even as a waitress to support herself. After completing her college education, she worked for a law firm, and then as a chef. When her father passed away in 1986, she inherited half of his estate. It was seven years after his death that she made her TV debut in an episode of the crime drama series ‘Moon Over Miami’.
In 1993, she appeared in a supporting role in several episodes of the acclaimed TV series ‘Beverley Hills: 90210’. The show earned huge popularity and won several awards and nominations. She also played guest roles in episodes of several TV shows. These include ‘Friends’, ‘Ellen’, and ‘Guys Like Us’. She played a main role in the series ‘Movie Stars’, which started airing in July 1999 on ‘The WB’ network. The show starred her along with actor Harry Hamlin. They portrayed famous Hollywood actors who were trying to raise their children.
She has also starred in several films throughout her career. She played a guest role in the 1996 comedy drama ‘The Evening Star’. It was a sequel to the Oscar winning film ‘Terms of Endearment’. Directed by Robert Harling, the film starred several popular actors such as Shirley MacLaine, Bill Paxton, Juliette Lewis, Miranda Richardson and Ben Johnson. The film, however, was a commercial failure, and also received unfavorable reviews from critics. Some other films she appeared in are ‘My Engagement Party’ (1998), ‘Going Shopping (2005), and ‘Welcome to California’ (2005).
