The film was a huge commercial success, earning more than seven times its budget. It was also listed as one of the scariest films ever made.

The show revolved around a forensic technician working for the Miami Metro Police Department, who also lives a parallel life as a serial killer who hunts down murderers who manage to escape from the justice system.
