Since 2016, Coleman is dating Tom Hughes, who appears as Prince Albert, her onscreen husband in the acclaimed TV series ‘Victoria’. The two first met on the sets of ‘Dancing on the Edge’. They kept their relationship under wraps for almost a year.

The rumor mills are rife that Jenna Coleman is engaged to Peter Hughes though there is no official announcement to this effect.

Jenna Coleman was born in Blackpool, Lancashire, England on April 27, 1986 to Karen and Keith Coleman. She has an older sibling by the name Ben. She went to Arnold School and was the head girl in the school. Coleman did not pursue a conventional university education as she turned down an offer to study English at York University to pursue her acting career.

She was attracted to acting during her school days and was passionately associated with Yer Space, which was highly instrumental in shaping her career as an actor.

Jenna Coleman’s acting career began with a small role as a bridesmaid, Summer Holiday, co-starring Darren Day. She was 11 years old at that time. She followed-up her acting career in the Yer Space play ‘Crystal Clear’ at the Edinburgh Festival.

In 2005, she auditioned for the role of Jasmine Thomas in ‘Emmerdale’, a role that earned her wide popularity.

In 2009, she grabbed the role of Lindsay James in BBC’s school drama ‘Waterloo Road’ and later followed it up in 2012 with the role of Susan Brown in ‘Room at the Top’, the TV adaptation of the John Braine’s novel of the same name.

In 2011, she made her movie debut with ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ in the role of Connie, followed by the short film ‘Imaginary Forces’ in 2012, where she played Ellen. Her latest movie outing was in the role of Katrina Clark in the 2016 film ‘Me Before You’.

In 2016, Jenna Coleman agreed to portray the lead in ITV’s period drama ‘Victoria’, which gave her a chance to prove her acting prowess.

Jenna Coleman’s other noteworthy roles on television include the role of Annie Desmond in the 2012 series ‘Titanic’, Rosie Williams in the 2013 ‘Dancing on the Edge’ and Lydia Wickham in the 2013 series ‘Death Comes to Pemberley’. She also appeared as herself in a 2013 comedy ‘The Five (ish) Doctors Reboot’, aspoof on ‘Doctor Who’.

She appears in ‘Xenoblade Chronicles’ since 2010 as ‘Princess Melia Antiqua’, the English version of the Japanese game of the same name. Since 2015, she appears as Clara Oswald in the video game ‘Lego Dimensions’.
