Jen Selter remains a social media-savvy person despite her extremely busy work schedule. She replies to private messages on her ‘Facebook,’ ‘Twitter,’ and ‘Instagram’ accounts as much as she can. This is another reason for her popularity.

In January 2018, Jen landed herself in a controversy when she was removed from a flight. She was traveling from Miami to New York. She stood up to put her coat in the overhead compartment when the flight officials asked her to sit. An argument began, and Jen was eventually taken out of the flight by five police officers. She recorded a video of the entire issue, and it became viral.

She is a huge basketball fan and admires the team ‘New York Knicks.’ She has been romantically linked with ‘Knicks’ player Kristaps Porzingis. Although she tries her best to appear in all of his games, she has personally denied the rumors and maintains that she is single.

Jen Selter was born on August 8, 1993, in New York. She was raised in a Jewish household by single mother Jill Weinstein. She was the second child in the family and grew up with an elder sister named Stephanie.

Jen had a tough childhood in Long Island. Growing up without a father was already difficult for her. Additionally, she was a victim of bullying because of her appearance. She would often return from school with tears in her eyes.

She thought her face was not attractive enough, as claimed by her classmates. To keep herself away from bullies, she wore padded bras and crop tops, as she thought that would divert people’s attention from her “not-so-attractive” face.

She thought she had a big nose. Thus, she forced her mother to allow her to get a rhinoplasty surgery done at the tender age of 15. According to her, this small surgery changed her life. She wished to enhance her physical beauty further. She started working out and eating healthy, eventually achieving the body of a fitness model.

Following her high-school graduation, she trained in cosmetology and also worked at a plastic surgeon’s office. Many people claim that she had a plastic surgery to enhance her buttocks. However, she has always denied such claims.

Jen always had a craze for social media. She was a frequent user of ‘Facebook,’ ‘Instagram,’ and ‘Youtube.’ She started her ‘Instagram’ account in March 2012 with the intention of showcasing her fit physique.

Initially, she did not get much attention on the platform. However, she soon started taking pictures from the side, flaunting her buttocks. Soon, her fans coined the term “belfie,” based on the popular millennial word “selfie.”

Before she dived into the world of social media, she learned about its algorithms. She researched a lot about how and why ‘Instagram’ celebrities became famous. She came up with her own tactics to do the same.

She finally shot to fame in 2014, by regularly updating her fitness progress and her motivational posts. Her strict work-out routine was a huge hit and helped her earn a massive fan following.

Over time, overwhelmed by her success, she started a few more ‘Instagram’ accounts. She maintains separate accounts for highlighting different aspects of her life. One of her ‘Instagram’ accounts solely posts couple pictures, while another focuses on pictures of her pet dog. Another account showcases the fitness clothing line that plans to launch soon.
