Career

Jason Mendez was among the three prominent Vine users, others being AlliCattt and Mighty Duck, to be shortlisted for ‘Fanta For the Funny’. The trio collectively had over 3 million fans. Fanta wanted them to create and share content using the hashtag #FantaForTheFunny to use them later. This move allowed Fanta to tap into the market of Teenager while connecting with them through humor. The series achieved more than 270,000 views on CollegeHumor.com with their first episode; the promotional Vine for the series generated over 437,000 loops.

After Vine was discontinued, Mendez shifted to Facebook to continue uploading his videos. However, the style was different as vines were only for 6 seconds, whereas Facebook videos needed to be longer to capture the audience’s attention. Jason had to work harder than usual as it meant a lot more editing and higher recording time. Soon Jason began posting 1-minute videos of pranks, funny reactions, and other daily escapades which brought him higher following. Currently, he uploads his videos on Facebook and advertises them through Twitter and Instagram. His future aspirations include focusing on making music with a strong inclination toward EDM and Hip Hop.
