James Paul Marsden was born on 18 September 1973 to James Luther Marsden and Kathleen Marsden, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. His father was a professor at the Kansas State University while her mother was a nutritionist. He is one of the five children of his parents and has two sisters and two brothers.
