Jake Short has been in relationships with China Anne McClain (2012 - 2013), Piper Curda and Alexxis Lemire.
Jake Short was born on May 30th 1997 in Indiana, USA to an internist father, James Cramer Short, and a plastic surgeon mother, Dr. Kimberly Kennan. He had a knack towards performing arts and sports since his early childhood. He has one older brother named Justin and two younger sisters, Gillian and Jessilyn.
While in school, Jake was a keen soccer player, a gymnast, guitarist and a martial artist. Seeing the wide range of talent the boy had, his parents and teachers pushed him forward to further hone his skills and all this gave him the celebrity status early in his life as an actor and teen idol.
It was Jake’s older brother who pushed him into acting. Both the brothers joined acting classes while Jake was 10 years old and even though his brother dropped out soon after getting bored, Jake continued with the classes as he found it an interesting career choice.
Jake used to wrestle with his brothers and his father as a kid for fun and once during a playful match, Jake hit his head so hard on the floor that he blacked out. He was rushed to the hospital. However brutal it sounds, Jake laughs it off and says that this happens to be the fondest memory he has of his childhood, showing how closely knit they were as a family.
Upon moving to Los Angeles for work, he was signed on for a commercial and just like that, Jake begun his journey in Hollywood. Over the years, Jake has done commercials for brands such as Danimals, Glad, Florida Orange Juice and Febreeze etc. He is considered a teen icon in America and hence, his familiarity among the masses makes him an ideal choice for brand promotions.
His acting career officially commenced as a child actor in the film ‘The Anna Nicole Smith Story’, where he played a small role as Daniel. His performance was appreciated and soon after, in 2009, he bagged another film titled ‘Shorts’ and in the very same year, Jake played the role of Kenny Coffee in an episode of ‘Zeke and Luthor’, a very popular show at that time. His first big break arrived in the same year when he was signed on for the very popular crime thriller series ‘Dexter’, where he played the role of Scott Smith.
‘Dexter’ put him on the map and many TV shows starting considering him for the roles and he eventually showed up in ‘Shit My Dad Says’ and ‘Futurestates’ where he appeared in single episodes. Right around that time in 2011, Disney was looking for the main character for their ambitious kid’s series ‘A.N.T. Farm’ and Jake got a call for the audition. Jake grabbed the role and it proved to be the most defining stint of his career.
'A.N.T. Farm’ ran until 2014 and is known to be a cult show among the kids. During its runtime, Jake kept himself busy with a couple of other roles in ‘Kirby Buckets’ and ‘Mighty Med’, in the latter one, he played the role as co-lead.
In 2016 arrived his next stint as the main lead when he was signed on to play Oliver in ‘Lab Rats: Elite Force’. The show is still on air and alongside that, Jake has been in talks for a few more movies and television shows.
