Ireland has dated photographer Slater Trout but came into spotlight for attending the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards with her girlfriend, Angel Haze, who is a rapper. Her father took time to come to terms with his daughter’s sexuality and initially didn’t approve of it. In an interview with Amy Schumer, Alec Baldwin stated that he would prefer to be with a woman he hated than sleep with someone of the same sex. This comment invited a lot of criticism from activists. He eventually stated he supports Ireland no matter what.
Ireland was born Ireland Eliesse Baldwin in Los Angeles, California on October 23, 1995. Her mother Kim Basinger and father Alec Baldwin are both major stars in Hollywood.
She has three half-siblings from her father’s second marriage to Hilaria Baldwin; half-brothers, Rafael and Leonardo, and a half-sister, Carmen. She is also the cousin of Hollywood actress Hailey Baldwin. Her uncles, Stephen, Daniel, and William Baldwin, are also actors.
She is of French, Scottish, German, English and Irish ancestry.
Growing up, Ireland was often ridiculed for being taller than the other girls. She had low self-esteem and also battled with eating disorders as a result of all the negative attention.
