Indio was arrested on June 29, 2014, on charges of cocaine possession. He was arrested in West Hollywood when the Sheriff’s deputies spotted him smoking cocaine inside a vehicle. He was released on bail the next day and was eventually enrolled into a rehab center. His father, Robert Downey Jr., supported him throughout and even told the media that his son might have inherited the addiction as cocaine addiction has a genetic component to it. With the support of his father and friends, Indio managed to overcome his addiction. In March 2016, Robert Downey Jr. congratulated his son on sobriety through a post on his official Facebook page. He even requested his fans to listen to his son’s then latest single ‘Cold Hands.’ Indio draws inspiration from several famous rock bands, such as ‘Led Zeppelin,’ ‘Nirvana,’ ‘The Sword,’ ‘Tame Impala,’ and ‘Queens of the Stone Age.’ He also draws inspiration from his girlfriend, whose name has not yet been disclosed. He spends a lot of his time with his business partner and friend Ralph Alexander.
Indio Falconer Downey was born on September 7, 1993, in Los Angeles, California, USA. Indio had a tough childhood as his mother Deborah Falconer left Robert Downey Jr. when Indio was just eight years old. His parents separated because of his father’s issues with drug addiction. Though his mother took him with her, Indio was always close to his father, making many public appearances with his dad throughout his growing up years. During his high school days, Indio developed passion for music, eventually joining a band as a guitarist and vocalist.
Indio made his acting debut at the age of 12, playing the younger version of the lead character in the 2005 black comedy film, ‘Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.’ Alternatively, he started focusing on his musical career and was even credited for contributing with additional music in the 2012 film ‘Jackie.’ He was then roped in to play a major role in the Adam Michardi-directed film, ‘Play of Consciousness.’ Indio began his mainstream career as a musician by joining the Los Angeles-based band, ‘The Seems.’ He joined the band as a guitarist and vocalist. However, he couldn’t make the best use of the opportunity as he started struggling with issues related to drug addiction. After overcoming his addiction, Indio reinvented his passion for music. Along with his friend Ralph Alexander, Indio created a rock band called ‘The Dose.’ In 2016, the musical duo came up with a number of singles, such as ‘Glory,’ ‘Cold Hands,’ ‘Shadows Close Behind,’ ‘Space Trader,’ ‘Adore,’ and ‘Truth Lies Inside.’ In 2018, Indio and Ralph released their hit singles, ‘Vervain’ and ‘Thrill of It.’ Indio currently serves as the guitarist and vocalist for his band, while Ralph takes care of the drums and bass.
