Hitman Holla was born Gerald Fulton, Jr. on March 29, 1988, in St Louis, Missouri, into a middle class African-American family. He has a younger brother, Showout, who grew up to be a social media star and is also involved in battle rap. His father is known as ‘Big Gerald’ and has supported his sons in their career in battle rapping by attending their shows and even participating and talking thrash against their opponents. Showout presently complements Hitman Holla in his battle rap career by participating alongside and endearing fans.

Hitman was a promising athlete and college basketball player. He received a scholarship from California State Northridge during high school. He later transferred to University of Missouri, St. Louis, and turned to battle raping before completing his college education. Prior to battle rapping, he was involved in gang battles against rival Crips and had two murder charges against him.

His love for sports remained embedded deep into his heart but he gave up gangbanging and concentrated on battle rap, which slowly became his passion. He was influenced by rappers like X-Factor and Mook in his youth, and picked up their aggressive style and astounding lyrics.

During 2010 – 2011, he battled Hollow Da Don, Arsonal and Goodz, who got the better of him at the ‘SMACK/URL’ and ‘Battle America’ leagues. However, as he gained experience and confidence, he went on to win against Aye Verb and John John Da Don at the ‘SMACK/URL’ league, in 2012.

He battled Math Hoffa, Conceited, and T-Rex in 2013, and came out a winner by a convincing margin. He was almost banned from Ultimate Rap League (URL) that year because he threatened to beat up a staffer named Norbes. However, the matter got resolved and in October 2015 he was featured in five of the 10 most viewed battles on the URL You Tube channel.

He battled with rap stars like Charlie Clips, Tsu Surf and Shotty Horroh that became some of the most watched videos leading to heavy debate on who should be declared the winner.
