Hikethegamer was born on July 15, 1982 in Armenia. He has posted photos of his wife on Instagram; her Instagram username is mrshikethegamer. Hike now lives in San Diego, California. Nothing more is known about his personal life.

Hikethegamer is recognized for his three YouTube channels—Hikethegamer, HikePlays, and Hike's Heroes. He is an expert in games like Grand Theft Auto, an action-adventure video game series created by David Jones and Mike Dailly; Call of Duty, a first-person shooter video game; and Forza, a series of racing video games.

He created his first channel, Hikethegamer, on February 2, 2013. On this channel, he lures his fans with GTA 5 Machinimas like Grand Theft Alien and Breakin the Law among others. He uploads videos every Saturday and Sunday. The channel has garnered over a million subscribers and more than 183 million views as of September 2018.

He started his second channel, HikePlays, on August 26, 2013. Here, he live streams videos every day and plays games like ARK, COD, and Minecraft. He also posts gaming videos on Forza and Grand Theft Auto. He live streams two-three times a day on this channel. The channel has garnered more than 2.1 million subscribers and more than 521 million views, as of September 2018.

His third channel, Hike's Heroes, was launched on April 27, 2014. It has, so far, amassed over 59k subscribers and over 492k views. It has been started for a unique reason—‘Be A Hero! Show Your Power!’ is the theme of the channel. The channel is for YouTube heroes, who want to help deserving YouTube creators and hard working YouTubers who have not yet been discovered.

Hike has collaborated with many fellow YouTubers, including his friend TypicalGamer.
