Tømmeraas was born on April 2, 1997, in Solbergelva, a suburb of the city of Drammen in the county of Buskerud, Norway. His parents are Bjørn Olav and Runi Tømmeraas. Herman’s brother, Teodor, is two years younger than him.
Herman’s mother, who is a finance administrator in the Attic, a dance academy located in Drammen, played an instrumental role in shaping his aesthetic sensibilities. Inspired by his mother, he started dancing when he was seven years old. Herman studied at Killingrud Ungdomsskole, Solbergelva's prominent private middle school.
In 2017, he started his mandatory military service as a Norwegian citizen. He serves as a lifeguard.
Herman Tømmeraas began dancing when he was seven years old. Since then, he has harboured a deep love for performing. His mother helped him in developing his artistic abilities. He began his acting career with the short ‘Arkitektene’. Released in 2008, the family-adventure film was directed by Viljar Osland and also starred Stian Werme and Benjamin Fevang Storrusten.
In 2011, he was cast as a cello prodigy in ‘Stikk’. Filmed in Oslo, Norway, the TV series told the story of a 12-year-old girl named Molly, who moves in with her new foster parents and makes friends with two boys from the neighbourhood.
Tømmeraas has been part of the cast of ‘Skam’ since the show’s pilot episode, which aired in 2015. The teen drama web series is produced by NRK P3, which is part of the Norwegian government-owned NRK. He portrays Christoffer Schistad, also known as Penetrator Chris. In 2017, he began filming for a new show titled ‘Null’.
Tømmeraas appeared alongside his real-life friend Astrid S in the music video for her song ‘Such a Boy’, released on July 10, 2017.
He is a brand ambassador for Urban Norge.
