Henry Simmons was born as Henry Oswald Simmons, Jr. on July 1, 1970 in Stamford, Connecticut, USA, to Aurelia and Henry Simmons, Sr. He has a twin sister named Heather M. Simmons, who is a casting director, as well as another sister. He attended Franklin Pierce University on a basketball scholarship and earned a business degree from the University in 1992.
