GloZell Green born at
GloZell moved to Hollywood, California, in 2003 in order to fulfill her aspirations of becoming an actress and a comedian. She was deeply inspired by, and also learnt a lot, from comedian Jay Leno. This led her to start a blog which included interviews with other audience members at Leno’s shows. After the creation of her YouTube account in 2008, she started recording video interviews. Soon, she switched to making comedy videos, featuring her daily life, impersonating celebrities, parodying songs, etc. She gained much popularity for her cinnamon challenge video, which got ranked in the ‘Viral Video Chart’ of ‘The Guardian’ in 2012. The same year, she was also featured in ‘Beauty and the Beat’ a popular video by Tordick Hall. Besides YouTube, she has also performed standup acts in several comedy venues as well as appeared in several shows. She released two singles in the year 2013. She has published books as well, including an autobiography named ‘Is You Okay?’ in 2016. The book was written in collaboration with Nils Parker. Her biggest achievement till date has been her video interview with former US President Barack Obama, hosted in the White House, which took place in 2015. They discussed several topics, including cyber security, racism among and against American cops, and about American relations with Cuba. In 2016, GloZell played a lead role in ‘Escape the Night’, a murder mystery webseries.
GloZell was born as GloZell Lyneette Green on 30 July 1972. Her parents are Gloria and Ozell Green. She also has a sister DeOnzell, who later went on to become an opera singer. GloZell studied at the University of Florida, and finished her graduation with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical theater. Her marriage with her first husband ended in the year 2003. Ten years later, in 2013, she married Kevin Simon, her manager. She currently lives in Los Angeles. In 2016, she became a mother to a girl child through surrogacy.
