In 2010, Gavin MacIntosh debuted in his acting career with a role in the dramatic short film ‘Turns’. In the following year, he appeared in a few more short films ‘The Science of Death’ as Young Martin Thomas; ‘Soulman: The Movie’ as Bobby; and ‘Sweet Dreams’ as Jake. Also in 2011, he played Alex in the short film ‘The Bluewater Tale’; Jake McCormick in ‘The Art of Paying Rent’; and Young Jonathan in ‘Breathe’. The same year, he made his feature film debut in ‘Blood Games: Sanctioned to Die’, where he played Mark Paterson along with his brother Gage.

Also in 2012, he played Young Brad in one episode of the science-fiction drama TV series ‘H.O.P.E.’ He also appeared in the television series ‘Raising Hope’, where he portrayed Burt's teenaged brother Bruce.

His breakthrough role came in 2013, when he started doing a recurring role in the family drama series ‘The Fosters’, aired on ABC. He portrayed Connor Stevens in 25 episodes, from 2013 to 2016. Connor Stevens was portrayed as a warm character who develops feelings for the shy foster child Jude Jacob Foster, prompting Jude to question his sexuality. He also played Parker Booth in two episodes of ‘Bones’, a crime procedural drama TV series that aired on Fox.
