Gaston Bolanos was born in Lima, Peru, on September 14, 1992. His father moved to California when he was 13. He grew up under the guidance of his guardian and coach Kirian Fitzgibbons after his father moved back to Peru. He went to school in Dublin, California. Not much is known about his family or dating life as he has not revealed anything.
Gaston Bolanos started with Muay Thai, at the ‘F-14 School of Champions’ in Lima, Peru, when he was just 10 years old. His natural inherent talent quickly shone through as he started racking up victories in junior amateur fights. At the age of 13, he moved to California, USA, with his father.
As luck would have it, the Muay Thai training gym ‘Fairtex Mountain View’ was close to his home. He started training there without hesitation under the watchful eyes of professional trainers Jongsanan Fairtex and Kirian Fitzgibbons. This was also the beginning of his longtime partnership with trainer Fitzgibbons, who remains his coach and guardian to date.
At the age 16, Gatson was nicknamed ‘The Dreamkiller’ for his attitude. Once the ‘2008 IFMA World Championships’ in Busan, South Korea was over, Gatson came to the decision to take up combat sports as a full-time profession. But being a minor he needed a legal guardian and his father was already making plans to move back to Peru.
It was here that the bond between Gatson and Kirian Fitzgibbons became stronger, as Fitzgibbons decided to become his legal guardian. This allowed Gatson to finish high school and he moved to Dublin, California, to become a professional fighter at ‘Combat Sports Academy’, under Kirian.
Gaston started fighting men twice his size and age and won most of the fights. His astounding amateur record stands at 23 victories, 3 losses, and only one draw. It is also well recorded that during an amateur fight at the ‘6-Flags theme park’ in California, his arm was illegally injured by an older opponent who was losing. Gatson not only continued fighting, but knocked him out with a straight right cross.
