Gabrielle Anwar was born on 4 February 1970 in Laleham, Surrey, England, to parents Tariq and Shirley Hills-Anwar. She attended Laleham C of E Primary and Middle School and then studied at Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. Talking about her love affairs, Anwar once dated actor Craig Sheffer and gave birth to his daughter before separating from him. She then married actor John Verea. The couple had two kids before divorcing. In 2015, the actress married Shareef Malnik and started living with him in Palm Island, Florida. Anwar got her American citizenship in the year 2008.
Gabrielle Anwar made her acting début in 1986 in the British miniseries ‘Hideaway’. She then appeared in the dramas ‘The Storyteller’ and ‘First Born’ in 1988. That year, she also appeared as Tina in the flick ‘Night Of Love’. Soon after this, she got featured in the series ‘Summer's Lease’ and ‘Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader’. In 1990, Anwar was cast as Sam Black in the drama ‘Press Gang’. A year later, she did the miniseries ‘The Mystery of the Black Jungle’ as well as the movies ‘If Looks Could Kill’ and ‘Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken’.
Soon after this, she got the opportunity to play the role of ‘The Tango Girl’ in the film ‘Scent of a Woman’.
