Fie Laursen

Fie Laursen was born on June 3, 1996 to Eddie and Anette Laursen. She grew up in the small town of Jaegerspris, Denmark. She currently shuffles between Denmark and Los Angeles. She has two siblings: Simon and Boris Laursen. Her brother Boris is a famous Vine celebrity. While Fie’s family follows Christianity, she believes in the idea of energy and flow. She has come out as bisexual. She was previously in a relationship with the YouTube celebrity MrCrainer. She is currently dating Frederik Valeur and they recently adopted a stray dog from Romania and named him Lucky. She also loves collecting stamps.

Fie Lauresen started her YouTube channel in September 2013. As Fie’s dream was to become a singer, she traveled to Los Angeles to record her first single ‘Secret’ in 2014. The first video posted on her YouTube channel was her single ‘Secret’ and later she started uploading vlogs that were more personal in nature, including an introduction to the channel, travel diaries, DIYs, and lookbooks. She then expanded to uploading fashion tutorials and Q&As about her life.

The channel grew so popular that in 2015, she decided to open an alternative YouTube channel that would be entirely in English and titled it ‘Foreign Fie’. The videos in this channel give the viewers a glimpse of her Danish background and culture. Her videos were interspersed with her musical journey.

She released the single ‘Broken Soul’ in 2015. In 2017, she release d‘Justin’ and ‘Top 10’. She also became famous for participating in ‘Paradise Hotel’, an American Reality TV series.

Her blogposts and vlogs became the talk of the town and she received ‘Social Media User of the Year’ from Reality Awards and ‘The Year’s Social Media User’ from Teenage Awards in 2017. She went on to release her biography titled ‘My Honesty’ in May 2017. She is currently the main star in ‘Fies Bryster’, a program produced in collaboration with AK Nygart. It follows Fie’s journey as she decided to undergo breast surgery.

She currently has over 137k subscribers on YouTube and her vlogs have a whopping 52 million views. She is also active on Instagram and Twitter where she has a substantial number of follower. However, Fie is most active on her official blog where she posts about everything under the sun, including her promotions, personal articles, and collections. Her blog is reported to have over 3 million views each month.

Fie was an outspoken teenager who wasn’t scared to speak her mind. However, she was constantly being bullied at school for her interest in fashion and blogging. She was even nicknamed ‘Fissefie’ and had to change schools constantly, but the bullying did not stop. This resulted in Fie falling prey to both anorexia and bulimia. She started suffering from depression and even attempted suicide. Her parents then decided to homeschool her. She decided to join a design school in Holte but dropped out because she grew anxious at an academic setting. She decided to address this on TV and explained how she was bullied in school. She became a teen idol overnight for her fearless attitude.

Fie was criticized after her video ‘My Honesty’ was out in May 2016. She said that she sometimes had created fictional stories and dramatized her experiences to gain fame and earn money. She claimed that she was dishonest when she said she went to Canada on the invitation of the famous rapper Drake. She originally visited Canada to meet her ex-girlfriend and her parents. This video made her viewers understand how skewed perceptions can be and what fame can do to people. She has apologized for her behavior.
