Ethan Cutkosky

Ethan Cutkosky was born in 1999 in Geneva, Illinois, to David and Yvonne Cutkosky. Ethan tries to maintain a low profile despite his acting career. He loves to live with his family outside Chicago and hangs out with his friends. He loves animals and has a pet cat named Bear. He attends public high school and likes to be treated as a regular kid.

Some of his favorite hobbies include skateboarding, jet skiing, motorcycle and bike riding and metaphysics pondering. He loves his family and had started shooting photo ads at the young age of 4, just to get more time with his mom. He was personally selected by David Goyer, writer/ director of ‘The Unborn’ because of his ability to give an expressionless face without efforts.

His fist photo advertisement came out when he was just 4 years old. This subsequently led to roles in commercials followed by movies. He made his film debut at the age of 8 with ‘Fred Claus’. He worked alongside Vince Vaughan, Paul Giamatti, and Rachel Weisz. However, this role was too small and went uncredited.

In 2009, he worked along with Odette Yustman and Gary Oldman in the popular horror movie ‘The Unborn’. His parents were a bit hesitant about his acting in such a movie and had a concern that it may affect him in an adverse way. However, he was so determined to do this role that he convinced his parents and did it. He was also a part of the independent film, ‘Conviction’.

In 2011, he got his big break when he was cast as the fifth child of the Gallaghers in the series ‘Shameless’. He portrayed a troublesome kid, who later shares a special bond with his father, the lead hero in the series. His portrayal of Carl was appreciated by many and earned him respect in the industry.

Ethan began studying martial arts at the young age of 4. He grabbed a second degree black belt in Taekwondo. He has almost no interest in video games and such other technological stuff. Instead, he is always more interested in outdoor activities that require real efforts. He had gotten his nickname – ‘One Take Barto’ on the sets of ‘The Unborn’, as he always tried to do everything in his first take. His parents had stopped him from doing the role of Barto. However, his determination changed them. However, he always tries to be regular and loves spending time with his family. Thus, determination and belief in real efforts at such young age is what makes him special.
