Personal Life

Having been incorrigible pranksters all their lives, the Bradberry brothers thought that it would be a good idea to set up a YouTube channel where they would prank random strangers for the entertainment of the general public. The channel was created on March 1, 2014, and they uploaded the first video 30 days later, on 31 March. Titled ‘Fighting Prank! - College Edition’, the video was an instant hit and has garnered 1.3 million views to date. Furthermore, it not only set up the tone for the channel but also brought them a loyal fan base, which only grew over time.

Their most viewed video is ‘Extreme Sitting On People Prank! (GIRLS EDITION)’, uploaded on August 20, 2014. It has over 45 million views. On November 25, 2015, the brothers uploaded a video titled ‘Would Your Child Know How To Escape A House Fire!? (Social Experiment)’, in which Ethan, Moe and their crew tried to test children of consenting parents if they were prepared for a fire in their respective homes. While the original post received several million views, the Bradberry brothers were criticized for the prank. At the beginning of the video, Ethan, while looking straight at the camera, introduces himself by saying “I am Ethan Bradberry” in a high-pitched voice. Soon, he became the subject of a very popular meme.

Ethan and Moe have been accused of staging their pranks and social experiments. Although the brothers have vehemently denied this time and again, people have pointed out glaring discrepancies that prove that their content is not completely real.

In the recent months, they have stopped uploading content on a regular basis. Ethan seems to be focusing more on his own channel these days.

Career

The Bradberry brothers garnered the most attention for their “hood-prank” videos, in which they would go to predominantly African-American and Latino low-income neighbourhoods and approach men and women standing outside the housing projects. In their first hood-prank video titled ‘Fight Me Now in the Hood’, they visited Brownsville, East New York, and Coney Island and confronted certain people, behaving strangely with them. Subsequently, Ethan and his brother warned them that they would fight them, using racial slurs. In response, the men and women present there invariably beat them up.

Controversies & Scandals

The brothers and others who make similar content have been criticised by the media and community leaders who feel that their presence in these neighbourhoods is only harming the respective communities.

Controversies & Scandals

In May 2014, Ethan and Moe partnered with the fellow prank channel ModelPrankstersTV’s Coby Persin to orchestrate a fake fight between two groups of gang members on the Coney Island boardwalk. A few police officers came to the scene and the pranksters started to swarm around them. Ethan was arrested and wasn’t released until he could prove that the fight was fake. He was eventually let go with a warning and told not to do something like that again.
