Erika Alexander first appeared on the big screen in the 1986 film ‘My Little Girl’. She also made her debut on TV that year by appearing in the TV film ‘George Washington II: The Forging of a Nation’. After this she did the movie ‘The Mahabharata’. In 1990, she began playing the role of Pam Tucker on ‘The Cosby Show’. The actress also appeared in an episode of ‘Law & Order’ that year. Soon after this, she had a role in the flick ‘He Said, She Said’.

She joined the cast of ‘Going to Extremes’ in 1992. The following year, Alexander started portraying the character of Maxine "Max" Felice Shaw in the sitcom ‘Living Single’. During this time, she also did the flick ‘54’. In 2001, the actress had a recurring role in ‘Judging Amy’. A year later, she got featured in the drama ‘Street Time’ as well as in the films ‘Love Liza’ and ‘Full Frontal’.
