Emma Monden

Emma Monden was born on January 26, 2000 in California, United States. Her mother's family is of British ancestry while her father's side of the family lived in the southern states of the United States. She is the eldest of her parents' two children and has a brother named Blake, who is five years younger than her. Her brother often shows up in many of her videos on her YouTube channel. She introduced her mother to her fans on a video posted in September 2016. Her favorite memory from her childhood is going on a road trip to New Mexico with her family. She has two pet cats named Teddy and Chloe. She has a poor eyesight and needs to wear glasses constantly, which she hates to. She is a devout Christian and had stopped using all her social media profiles other than YouTube for six weeks in early 2015 for lent.

Since Emma Monden was a child, she used to follow beauty and fashion videos on YouTube, and was inspired to create her own YouTube channel after watching a Christmas haul video by her favorite YouTuber Krazyrayray. She created the YouTube channel 'thebeautyfashionbabe' on December 15, 2012 and posted her first video titled 'What I got for Christmas 2012!' on December 26, 2012. Her second video, 'Naked vs. Naked 2 Palettes ft. bigcityglamour!', released on December 30, was accompanied by a blog post on her blog page 'thebeautyfashionbabe', which she had created to post links to her latest YouTube videos. However, the blog has since been discontinued.

She also has a vlogging channel titled 'Emma Monden Vlogs’, which she created on December 29, 2012 and posted the first video, 'San Fran Day 1! Golden Gate Bridge, Hotel Room Tour, & more!', on May 27, 2013. While her friends at school knew about her channel, she realized that she is gaining popularity on YouTube after being told by random people that they watched and liked her videos. Since the early days, she had managed to gain a loyal fan base who had even created a fan page on Instagram named '@thebeautyfashionbabe' within a few months.

While Emma Monden has a handsome payout from her YouTube channel now, in the early days, she insisted that she was on YouTube for the fun and not the money. Before she started monetizing her channel, she used to do chores around the house to earn pocket money and even considered babysitting as she loved kids. After making up her mind to start her own YouTube channel, she showed her parents videos from other YouTubers to let them know what type of content she wanted to create. She also convinced them that it won't require her to share any sort of personal information on the internet. Her parents, who liked the fact that she filmed and edited her videos, supported her from the beginning. The only other adult person who she told about her YouTube channel during the initial days was her godmother.

Despite rising to fame as a beauty and makeup artist, rather than showing her face to the camera after putting on makeup, she enjoys talking to the camera more. As such, she loves to do shopping haul type videos in which she explains her shopping trends to her fans. Many of her videos on style and fashion are inspired by the movie 'Mean Girls', which she mentioned to be her most favorite movie ever during a Q&A session. Two of her favorite songs are 'Come & Get It' by Selena Gomez and 'Radioactive' by Imagine Dragons.
