Edward Jack Peter “Ed” Westwick was born on 28 June 1987 in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England. His father, Peter Westwick is a university lecturer while his mother, Carole Westwick is an educational psychologist. Ed has two older brothers. At the age of six, he started attending drama school. He studied at The Barclay School and then graduated from North Hertfordshire College. After this, he learnt acting from National Youth Theatre in London. Coming to Ed’s love life, he dated actress Jessica Szohr from 2008 to 2010. It was also in the news that he began a relationship with Phoebe Tonkin in 2011. Again after his breakup, he had another girlfriend named Brittany. Currently the British actor resides in Los Angeles.
Ed Westwick was one of the members of the British band named ‘The Filthy Youth’. Formed in 2006, this band released the songs ‘Orange’ and ‘Come Flash All You Ladies’, both of which were featured in the TV series ‘Gossip Girl’.
Ed Westwick made his film debut in the year 2006 in ‘Breaking and Entering’. The same year, he appeared on television in shows ‘Doctors Holden’, ‘Casualty’ and ‘Afterlife’. The following year, he did the movie ‘Son of Rambow’ and was also offered his breakthrough role of Chuck Bass for the teen drama series ‘Gossip Girl’. The performance of the actor in this series made him earn considerable name and fame. He was named one of Sexiest Men Alive by People magazine on its 2008 list. He even became the model for K-Swiss as a result of this performance.
After this, the ambitious actor got featured in the horror flick ‘100 Feet’ followed by ‘S. Darko’ in 2009 and ‘Chalet Girl’ and ‘J. Edgar’ in 2011 respectively. From 2013 to 2015, Westwick was cast in a number of movies such as ‘Romeo & Juliet’, ‘Last Flight’, ‘Bone in the Throat’ and ‘Freaks of Nature’. The British star was also offered the role of Kent Grainger on the TV series ‘Wicked City’.
