Diggy Simmons was born as Daniel Dwayne Simmons III to Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons and his second wife, Justine, on March 21, 1995 in New York. He has five siblings named Angela, Russell II, Vanessa, Victoria, and JoJo. He is a grandson of the popular actor Daniel Simmons and a nephew of Daniel J. Simmons and Russell Simmons. Information regarding the singer’s education and love life is not known.
In 2009, Diggy Simmons released his first ever mixtape titled ‘The First Flight’. Following its release, Simmons signed with Atlantic Records. Soon after this, he released his song “Made You Look” that went on to become a viral hit. Simmons next came up with his track “Oh Yeah” which featured Lupe Fiasco and Pharrell Williams. He then released his second mix tape ‘Airborne’. In December 2010, the singer released his third mix tape titled ‘Past Presents Future’ that included popular songs of the 1980s and 1990s by artists like A Tribe Called Quest, Nas and Rakim.

From 2005 to 2009, Diggy Simmons appeared in the reality TV show ‘Run's House’. He then had a minor role in the 2012 comedy ‘Parental Guidance’. After this, he landed his own TV movie/show pilot titled ‘The Start-Up’. He has also appeared in the TV series ‘Grownish.’
