Diandra Luker

Diandra Luker married Michael Douglas in March 1977. They led a happy married life for several years. They have a son, Cameron Douglas, who was born in 1978. After a decade of marriage, things started turning sour and their relationship hit a rock. In 1995, they started living separately, and the couple was legally divorced in 2000. As part of the divorce settlement, Luker received a sum of $45 million from Douglas.

After her divorce, Luker was in a relationship with businessman Zach Hampton Bacon III. In 2004, the couple had twin boys, Hudson and Hawk, born from a surrogate mother. The couple parted ways shortly afterwards. Later, Luker adopted a daughter, Imira, from Kazakhstan. Luker was the godmother to late Casey Johnson, the heiress to ‘Johnson & Johnson.’

Luker’s son, Cameron, was involved in drug trafficking. He was imprisoned for 5 years, for the offence. Luker was criticized for her son’s behavior too. Newspapers claimed that it was her greed that caused her son to become a drug addict.

Diandra Luker was born in 1956, in a small island in Majorca. The exact date of her birth is not in public domain. Her father was a former Swiss-American diplomat. Her mother was of Anglo-French descent. Luker’s father had a traveling job. Due to this, she was sent to a boarding school in Switzerland. Later, Luker moved to the United States for her higher education.

Diandra Luker attended the ‘Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service,’ in Georgetown. When she was 19 years old, Luker met Hollywood star Michael Douglas at the swearing-in ceremony of the US President, Jimmy Carter. They started dating, and after two weeks of courtship, Douglas proposed to marry Luker. They got married in March, 1977.

Diandra Luker was actively involved in charity work during her teenage. She was an active member of the ‘Red Cross.’ Due to her interest in charity work, Luker was hired by the Board of Directors of ‘Metropolitan Museum of Art,’ to produce documentaries for their ‘Office of Film and Television.’

Luker worked as a model too for a brief period of time. She was hired by ‘Forbes Models,’ the agency, which had hired popular models such as Carolina Herrera and Donna Karan.

After her marriage to Douglas, Luker started making documentaries for TV. In 1991, she produced an episode for the ‘American Masters’ series, which was telecast on the ‘PBS’ network. Luker produced the episode, ‘Frederic Remington: The of Other Dogs.’

Luker was the co-producer of the 1993 documentary, ‘Beatrice Woods: Mama of Dada,’ which was aired on the ‘PBS’ network. It was based on the life and work of the ‘Dada’ artist, Beatrice Wood. The documentary was highly appreciated by the audience. In 1997, Luker was one of the producers of the documentary movie, ‘Off The Menu: The Last Days of Chasen’s.’ In 2008, Luker made her film debut. She was also the co-producer of the movie, ‘Broken Lines.’

Diandra Luker received wide criticism for demanding a large sum in alimony from Michael Douglas, who was suffering from cancer. She justified her stand saying that she had asked for what she deserved.
