David Lambert has been dating actor Kaya Rosenthal since 2015. He made his relationship public on social media. There have been unconfirmed rumors about him having dated his ‘The Fosters’ co-star Maia Mitchell.
David has a brother and a sister, and he is close to both of them.
David Lambert was born on November 29, 1993, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His father was an American of Irish, English, German, and French descent. His mother is Puerto Rican. His parents married early. David grew up with a sister and a brother.
When he joined kindergarten, he was an introverted child. He would seldom respond to his teachers or talk to his classmates. Observing his nature, his parents decided to homeschool him. In addition, his father’s business assignments took him to different places, and it was very difficult for him to continue changing schools from time to time.
Such was the intensity of his “social awkwardness” that his parents had to take him to a counselor to address his mental issues. Despite being an introvert, he showed great artistic talent since his early days. He played a key role in the stage production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ when he was just 3 years old. Apart from that, he also showed significant inclination toward learning music and had a great singing voice as a child.
He learned to play the electric guitar, the piano, and the trumpet and was also deeply engrossed in drama and literature. Being homeschooled for most of his childhood came with a lot of perks for David, such as having enough time to fulfil his artistic thirst of doing stage shows.
His father’s job had the family moving to different places from time to time. As a kid, David lived in Texas, Taiwan, and England. The family finally settled in Georgia, where David began taking his artistic career very seriously.
David started his career with professional plays. In his early years, he played a key character in the stage version of ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.’ He played ‘Mr. Tumnus’ in the play. He also played the role of ‘Mr. Mayor’ in the ‘Broadway’ musical ‘Seussical.’ He appeared in a few more plays such as ‘The Jungle Book’ and ‘Little Princess.’
His mom pushed him constantly to follow his dreams. In seventh grade, he attended an open audition. There, he met a local agent, Joy Purvis. Soon, David arrived in Los Angeles along with his mother and started auditioning for film and TV roles.
In 2007, David made his acting debut when he appeared in a small role in the series ‘Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.’ He played the role of ‘Jalen’ in the fifteenth episode of the second season of the highly acclaimed series. The next year, he appeared in a guest role in an episode of the detective comedy-drama series ‘Psych.’ Although his early roles were small, his acting talent could not have been ignored. He had no dearth of good roles in his early acting career.
In 2008, David starred as the younger version of the lead character, ‘Bob Fitzpayne,’ in the TV movie ‘Pretty/Handsome.’ It was supposed to be a series but did not get picked up by ‘FX’ and was eventually aired as a TV film.
In 2009, David got a major career breakthrough when he was selected to portray ‘Jason Landers/Terminus Mag’ in the science-fiction adventure series ‘Aaron Stone.’ The series featured him as a gamer with social anxiety. He received immense accolades for his performance. The show was a critical and commercial success and brought David the much-needed industry exposure.
