He first saw her while the two were driving in separate lanes on a highway in California. The two exchanged glances, and that’s all it took Darrell to start following her. He wrote his number on a piece of paper and pushed it against the car window. The trick worked and the lady called him soon after, thus marking the beginning of their exciting love story.

Darrell Sheets is a veteran storage hunter! In fact, that’s what he does for a living. Several years ago, he ventured into the storage locker business on his own and earns his livelihood by selling items from his purchased lockers. He mainly sells them at his weekly swap meet and through his online store. Over the course of this unconventional career, Sheets has landed some really amazing and a few bizarre finds. His most interesting finds include four drawings by Pablo Picasso and a letter written by Abraham Lincoln. He once encountered something really scary when he found a human corpse, wrapped in plastic, in a storage locker.

Being a storage auction veteran, Sheets was very excited to learn about the A&E reality TV series ‘Storage Wars.’ Since his son, Brandon, also helps him in his business, they decided to participate in the series as a father-son duo. Joining the series in 2010, the father and son have proved themselves to be formidable bidders in the show and have emerged among the most popular participants. Working together, the two found a real treasure in season 3. Darrell bought a locker for $3,600, which on opening, was discovered to contain several pieces of original artwork by Frank Gutierrez, worth for approximately $300,000! This not only resulted in the biggest profit in the show’s history, but also brought much fame and adulation to Darrell and Brandon.
