Dany Garcia was born on November 29, 1968, in Miami, Florida, United States. Her parents were immigrants from Cuba. She owned a horse back then as she enjoyed horse riding. Dany was part of a band during her school days and played instruments like piano and French horn.
Dany’s sincerity, hard work, and leadership skills paved the path for a flourishing career. Dany has tried her hand at various disciplines like finance, marketing, bodybuilding, and entrepreneurship, and she has excelled in almost all her endeavors. She developed an interest towards finance and entrepreneurship during her teenage years. At 16, she became the owner of a barn in New Jersey and sold business suits.
Dany landed a job at ‘Merrill Lynch’ right after earning her bachelor’s degree with a major in ‘International Marketing and Finance’ from ‘The University Of Miami Business School.’ The job helped her gain experience and knowledge, which would later play a crucial role in her career as an entrepreneur. This knowledge and experience also helped her getting the position of the vice president of the company.
Around the same time, Dany also became an executive at ‘Pierce, Fenner & Smith.’ After working for a few years, Dany finally decided to launch her own company. She laid the foundation of her first business venture ‘JDM Partners LLC,’ a wealth management firm. Thanks to her smart business strategies, the company entered the list of top finance companies in terms of revenue generation. Dany invested the annual profit made by her company in many business start-ups, including ‘Cava Mediterranean Grill’ restaurants.
She then turned her attention towards bodybuilding, which, in turn, gave her career a whole new dimension. With the help of her then husband, Dwayne Johnson, Dany succeeded in shaping her bodybuilding career. After few years of training, she became one of the top ten contenders at the ‘NPC National Bodybuilding Championships’ held in Miami. Post her divorce with Dwayne, she quit bodybuilding and stepped into the entertainment industry.
Under her leadership, ‘Seven Bucks Productions’ came up with many successful movies and television shows. Some of the company’s TV series and movies include ‘Wake Up Call,’ ‘Snitch,’ and ‘Baywatch.’ She also became the founder and CEO of ‘Garcia Companies,’ which is a brand management company.
In 2015, Dany was announced as one of the guest panelists on ‘Profiles on Champions’ discussion, organized by ‘Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT).’ The event was part of the committee’s 35th annual leadership conference, which discussed opportunities for female wrestlers and bodybuilders. Dany then founded ‘The Beacon Experience,’ which primarily works towards elevating the quality of education provided by inner city schools.
In the same year, she was honored with the title ‘Bridge Builder Impacto Latino of the Year’ by ‘Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.’ Being a multi-faceted woman, Dany has inspired many people from all walks of life. Dany also manages the professional life of her ex-husband, Dwayne Johnson.
Dany met WWE legend Dwayne Johnson during her college days. After years of dating, the couple got married on May 3, 1997. On August 14, 2001, they welcomed their daughter, Simone Alexandra. Unfortunately, the marriage did not work out the way they wanted it to, and Dany and Dwayne decided to part ways. After ten years of blissful marriage, the couple got divorced in 2008. Even after their divorce, Dany has maintained a cordial relationship with Dwayne and shares the custody of their daughter with him. Dany is now married to Dave Rienzi, who previously worked as the personal trainer of Dwayne Johnson.
