Danny Pudi was born as Daniel Mark Pudi on March 10, 1979 in Chicago, Illinois, USA, to parents Teresa and Abraham Pudi. He studied at Notre Dame College Prep, Illinois, and later on attended the Marquette University in Milwaukee to earn a degree in Communication and Theatre. He then studied at Chicago’s The Second City. Pudi got married to his college sweetheart Bridget Showalter in 2004. The couple welcomed twins in January 2012.
Danny Pudi served as a recruiter for an executive search firm before shifting to Los Angeles to seek TV and film roles. He made his debut on television in 2006 by appearing in the show ‘ER’. After this, he appeared in the series ‘Greek’ and in the short film ‘Cop Show’. Soon after this, he joined the cast of the series ‘Community’ in 2009. The same year, Pudi did another short film titled ‘Nilam Auntie: An International Treasure’.
After this, he got the chance to appear in multiple small and big screen projects including ‘Fully Loaded’, ‘Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil’, ‘Leader of the Pack’, ‘The Guilt Trip’, ‘Flatland 2: Sphereland’, ‘The Pretty One’, ‘Vijay and I’, ‘The Knights of Badassdom’, ‘Cougar Town’, ‘Robot Chicken’, ‘Chuck’, ‘The Book Club’, ‘Hot in Cleveland’ and ‘Royal Pains’.
In 2014, the actor voiced the character of Levander Hart in the series ‘Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja’. The same year, he worked as an actor as well as a director for the documentary ‘30 for 30 Shorts’. A year later, he was cast in the comedy series ‘Newsreaders’ and also as a voice actor for ‘TripTank’. Then Pudi did the films ‘The Tiger Hunter’, ‘Star Trek Beyond’ and ‘After the Sun Fell’ in 2016. During that year, he also appeared on the shows ‘Dr. Ken’, ‘Great Minds with Dan Harmon’, ‘Angie Tribeca’ and ‘Better Things’.
In 2017, Pudi did the series ‘Powerless’ and ‘The Guest Book’. He also voiced the character of Brainy Smurf in the flick ‘Smurfs: The Lost Village’. He is also voicing Huey in the animated series ‘Duck Tales’ from the same year.
