Danny O'Donoghue was born as Daniel John Mark Luke O'Donoghue on 3 October 1979 in Dublin, Ireland, to parents Shay O'Donoghue and Ailish O'Donoghue. He has four brothers, Vicky, Mandy, Ian, and Dara, as well as a sister named Andrea. O'Donoghue’s father died on 14 February 2008 after he suffered from a stomach aneurysm. The singer’s song titled ‘If You Could See Me Now’ was written in the memory of his father.
Coming to O'Donoghue’s love life, he initially dated Irma Mali. After the breakup with the model, he started dating another model, Anne De Paula. Unfortunately, the Irish singer separated from her too. Currently, O'Donoghue is said to be dating Janine Tugonon.
Danny O'Donoghue started his music career in the late 1990s by joining the band ‘Mytown’ after being signed to the Universal Records. After this, he moved to Los Angeles and started writing and producing for famous artists like Boyz II Men, Britney Spears and TLC. Later on, he came back to Dublin and formed the band ‘The Script’ with Mark Sheehan and Glen Power in 2001. Seven years later, the band released its debut album. The album became a huge hit, especially in Ireland. Then in 2010, the band released its second studio album named ‘Science and Faith’.
Two years later, their third album titled ‘#3‘came out. After this, ‘No Sound Without Silence’ was released as the fourth studio album of the band in 2014. Meanwhile O'Donoghue had also joined the reality TV competition show ‘The Voice UK’ as a coach in the year 2012. Although his appointment as a coach drew criticism at first, later on it added to O'Donoghue's popularity. In the first series of the show, the singer-songwriter coached Bo Bruce who became the runner-up in the end. In the second series, his team member Andrea Begley won the show. Due to the consistent success of ‘Team Danny’, O'Donoghue was invited to again join the show for its third season. However, he didn’t come back and was eventually replace by Ricky Wilson for the third series. After this, the Irish singer started concentrating on The Script.
