Daniel Seavey is one of the hottest pop singers of the American music industry. Fascinated by music since an early age, Seavey soon equipped himself by learning how to play a variety of musical instruments including violin, guitar, bass and so on. He was barely in his teens when he first competed in 14th season of American Idol. He auditioned in San Francisco with Paula Abdul's ‘Straight Up’ and earned his first ever ticket to Hollywood.
In the rounds to follow, he belted out some remarkable performances before singing ‘Straight Up’ once again to earn a spot in the Top 24. Seavey’s musical abilities took him long until the Top 9, after which he was eliminated. Though a lot of criticism and flak did the rounds, as people believed he was too young and could have waited for a year or two, what turned out in Seavey’s favour was his sheer brilliance as a performer and his talented self. He was a fan favourite and also of Judge Jennifer
Lopez who seemed to be the most impressed with Seavey due to his young age. Though Seavey couldn’t make it to the finals, he did make it to the hearts of millions of viewers who were spellbound by the fact that his age was just a number while speaking of his incredible singing abilities.
Riding high on his journey in ‘American Idol’, Seavey engaged himself on social media immediately after his exit from the show. He started posting music videos on YouTube, singing songs like ‘Sunday Morning’ or ‘How Sweet It Is’ and so on. He also made a cameo in Jax’s music video for her song ‘La La Land’. Additionally, he collaborated with Lovey James on two singles, ‘Secret Love Song’ and ‘See You Again’.
In 2016, Seavey was offered a position as a member of the band ‘Why Don't We’, alongside four other young singers. The band released their first single, ‘Taking You’. On November 25, 2016, they released their first EP named, ‘Only the Beginning’. The success of their debut song and EP led them to come up with three more EPs in the following year: ‘Something Different’ and ‘Why Don’t We Just’ followed by ‘Invitation’. In the little time, ‘Why Don’t We’ has come up with several foot tapping numbers that have been popular across the charts. Some of their famous songs include ‘Something Different’, ‘Help Me Help You’ and so on. Post the three EPs, Seavey along with his band members hit the road for their ‘Invitation’ tour, and in December performed on Jingle Ball 2017. Currently, the band is working with YouTuber Logan Paul.
