Daniel Lee Kyre was born on July 6, 1994 in South Carolina, the United States. His father is David Kyre and he had a younger sister. In 2015, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment.
On September 16, 2015, he attempted suicide, and was found in his room in Los Angeles in a critical condition. He was rushed to the emergency room and transferred to the intensive care unit. Daniel’s father had texted him earlier the same day, expressing his happiness at the Markiplier / Cyndago collaboration, and his appreciation for the music he was writing to play on his guitar. While he did not hear back from Daniel, he received a call from a Los Angeles ambulance informing him about his son’s suicide attempt an hour later. His family members flew to Los Angeles to be with him. After two days in the intensive care unit, he was declared dead on September 18, 2015. He died due to irreversible brain damage as a result of the suicide attempt. His family informed his friends and the media a day after his death and created a life tribute page for people to share their memories.
His friends were shocked by the news of his death. Markiplier opened an account on GoFundMe to support Daniel’s family after his death. Markiplier also made a video called ‘Lost a friend’. He took a break from uploading videos on his channel for some time to mourn his friend’s death. Through the Cyndago channel, his friends urged people to seek help if they were depressed or got suicidal thoughts.
On December 17, 2012, Daniel Kyre and his childhood friend Ryan Magee started the YouTube channel Cyndago, which has since then garnered over 351k subscribers and over 39 million views. For the first three years, they worked in South Carolina, but eventually they moved to Los Angeles, California, in 2015 for better opportunities.
The channel Cyndago became popular for its comic content, vlogs, and humorous songs. Impressed by the content of the channel, Mark Fischbach, popularly known as Markiplier, a well-known YouTube personality, collaborated with them and worked with them in some of their videos. This increased the channel’s viewership and subscriber base as well. As their work increased after moving to Los Angeles, the duo hired Matt Watson, who handled the editing, while Daniel and Ryan concentrated on creating content. Some of the group's most viewed videos include ‘The Warfstache Affair’ and ‘We Dye Our Hair!’ The channel was abandoned after Daniel’s death in 2015.
Besides being a YouTube star, Daniel was a songwriter and a good guitarist. He even composed the music that they used in their videos on YouTube.
