Cole Pendery

Cole Pendery was born on February 22, 1996, in Midlothian, a city in the northwest Ellis County, Texas, United States. It was a considerably small town and his parents, looking to engage their son in a productive activity, signed him up to play soccer. Joining the team as a four-year-old, he came to love the sportsmanship and the camaraderie of a team. It was here that he first understood the true meaning of the word “teamwork”.

When he was studying in the sixth grade, he got the opportunity to perform with the school choir. The performance had a significant effect on him. He decided then and there that he wanted to be a professional musician. Two years later, Pendery had a lengthy talk with his parents and told them what he wanted to in his life. They initially dismissed his decision to become a musician as a silly teenage dream, but eventually became fully supportive of his pursuits. Besides his loving parents, his immediate family also includes a younger sister named Kylee.

Cole previously dated actress Cassidy Shaffer. He is currently in a relationship with dancer Brooke Maroon.

In the summer of 2010, Cole Pendery, accompanied by his mother, went to stay in Los Angles. His original intention was to become an actor. However, about a month after their arrival, Pendery learned about an audition for a boy band which was being formed by three very influential figures in the music industry: Simon Fuller, Jamie King, and Perez Hilton. In 2012, IM5 was formed with Gabriel Morales, Dana Vaughns, and Pendery. They released their first major single, ‘Everything About You’, in 2013. That year they were nominated for the Breakout Artist of the Year at the Radio Disney Music Awards.

Both Morales and Vaughns eventually left the group and Pendery was the only remaining member of the original group for a while before it disbanded in 2016. In 2017, he kicked off his solo career under the name RYDYR and released his debut single ‘Wonderful Life' in August 2017.

Pendery is also an aspiring actor. He guest-starred as a character named Sammy Walker in an episode of CBS’ police procedural crime drama ‘Criminal Minds’ in 2010. In February 2014, he co-hosted ‘Inside Disney’ with Genevieve "G" Hannelius.

Pendery is an ardent fan of both ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Adventure Time’.
