Cierra Ramirez was born on March 9, 1995, in Houston, Texas. Her father, Sonny Ramirez, is a music producer and consultant. Her mother is a kindergarten teacher. She has a sister, Savannah. Her father is Columbian, and her mother is Mexican.

Cierra Ramirez belongs to a rich family. She had an easy and pampered childhood. Ramirez picked up fashion tips from her mother and started participating in fashion shows when was 6 years old.

Ramirez was raised in Sugar Land, Texas. She attended the ‘Westside High School’ for two years. Later, she moved to Los Angeles, where she was homeschooled to help her devote more time to her acting career.

In 2005, at the age of 10, Ciera Ramirez made her TV debut with the singing show ‘Showtime at the Apollo.’ She performed the song ‘I Am Changing’ in the segment ‘Apollo Kids Star of Tomorrow.’ Her singing ability was immensely appreciated in the show. Ramirez then signed a contract with ‘Tribeca Music Group.’ She performed in the opening acts for a number of music bands and performers such as ‘Earth Wind and Fire,’ ‘Chicago,’ and ‘Ruben Studdard.’ She released her first EP, ‘Discreet,’ in 2016.

In 2006, Ramirez played ‘Isabel Terraza’ in the episode ‘Deviant’ of the widely popular TV series ‘CSI: Miami.’ It was a crime series telecast on ‘CBS.’ In the same year, she portrayed ‘Annie Marie’ in the episode ‘Children and Art’ of the American comedy–drama series ‘Desperate Housewives.’ In 2007, she starred in the series ‘The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,’ aired on ‘Disney Channel.’ The series featured her as ‘Jasmine,’ a young camper with anger management issues.

In 2012, Cierra Ramirez bagged a major role in the American drama film ‘Girl in Progress,’ directed by Patricia Riggen. She played ‘Ansiedad,’ a 14-year-old girl who is raised by a single mother. ‘Ansiedad’ does not get enough attention from her mother. She plans to complete a few tasks to become independent and run away from home. Ramirez performed the part with ease and grace and won immense accolades for her performance. The role earned her the ‘ALMA Award’ for the ‘Favorite Movie Actress–Supporting Role.’ She also won the ‘Imagen Foundation Award’ for the ‘Best Supporting Actress’ for her performance in the movie.

Ramirez played the recurring character ‘Kathy’ in the fifth season of ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager,’ telecast on ‘ABC Family. It was a teen-drama series and was appreciated by viewers. Ramirez’s character, ‘Kathy,’ was introduced as a pregnant freshman in the hundredth episode of the series. ‘Kathy’ eventually faces problems in college because of her pregnancy and plans to give her baby up for adoption. Ramirez portrayed the character perfectly.

In 2013, Cierra Ramirez bagged a career-defining role that made her a household name in the US. She was selected for the role of ‘Mariana Adams Foster’ in the series ‘The Fosters.’ ‘Mariana’ is portrayed as a bright girl who is adopted by a lesbian couple. She is very conscious about her appearance and ethnicity and lacks self-confidence. The series shows ‘Mariana’s struggles to blend in and to prove her mettle to the world.

Cierra Ramirez describes herself as a “Mexilumbian,” a word formed by combining “Mexican” and “Columbian,” showcasing her mixed descent. She regrets not being able to speak Spanish, in spite of the fact that both her parents have always spoken Spanish at home.

Ramirez was considered to be the most beautiful girl in high school. She often threw parties for her friends.
