Jarecki is a vegan and an animal lover who advocates for animal rights. He and Alicia have so far rescued four dogs, one of which, they named The Pig. Apparently, The Pig is a bulldog and shares a bed with them.
Christopher Jarecki is an eminent American musician who was the frontman of punk group S.T.U.N. The name S.T.U.N stood for ‘Scream Towards The Uprising of Non-Conformity’. The members of the band were Christopher (vocals), Neil Spies (guitar), Nick S. (bass), and Bobby Alt (drums).
Jarecki’s band mainly focused on meaningful songs and lyrics. They wanted to deliver their notions and ideas through their music. Hence, they tried to reflect their thoughts and beliefs through their work. Their main aim was to present lyrics that were idealistic, and supported certain ideologies like universalism and socialism. Along with this, they also focused on other problems in the society like eradicating class warfare and criticising American imperialism through their lyrics.
The band, through their work, was emulating the eminent Rage Against The Machine punk band which reflected their political views through their music. S.T.U.N was signed by Geffen Records in the year 2002. On June 24, 2003, their first and only memorable album ‘Evolution of Energy’ was released. The band was heavily influenced by many prominent personalities, musicians, and bands like Noam Chomsky, Sex Pistols, The Clash, Daniel Quinn, Jane’s Addiction, Radiohead, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, Super Furry Animals and the legend, David Bowie. The band lasted till 2003.
Jarecki has toured with many famous musicians like Jane’s Addiction, The Used, Marilyn Manson, and has been a part of The Warped Tour which is a travelling rock festival that tours around the United States. He has also played at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Since Jarecki’s band mainly focused on political views and social problems, it was named an ‘Artist to Watch’ by Rolling Stone magazine and also by MTV.
He is also leading a Los Angeles-based group The Bathroom Murders. In June 2009, The Bathroom Murders released their first album which was known as ‘Anarchiso’. The band is working on a follow-up and also plays live very often around Los Angeles. At present, Jarecki is hosting his own radio show ‘A Musical Journey with Christopher Jarecki’ where he invites special guests and they discuss five songs that reveal their personal musical history. The show is broadcast through GTFU radio.
