Christian Guzman was born on February 20, 1993, in Houston, Texas. He is the first child of his parents and has a younger brother. He was not interested in sports during his early teenage years, but instead played the guitar and was a member of a rock band. He shifted focus to bodybuilding only after his music group disbanded. He had enrolled into Texas State University in 2011, but dropped out in 2015 without completing his graduation to meet the increasing demands of his fitness oriented digital business.
He was previously in a relationship with fitness model Nikki Blackketter, with whom he owned the joint channel 'CG&NIKKIBTV'. They later parted ways, and he is now involved with fellow fitness YouTube star Heidi Somers.
During his middle school and early high school years, Christian Guzman was primarily known amongst his peers as the "skinny kid who played guitar". However, after his rock group disbanded, he met a new group of friends who came together three times every week to train at a strength and conditioning camp. Following them, he was inspired to focus on building his body and soon fell in love with fitness training and weight lifting. He began to train every day after school, and some time later changed from strength training to muscle building to improve his skinny stature.
His fitness regime also included finding inspiration and tips, from expert bodybuilders online, which included popular fitness models such as Matt Ogus and Scott Herman. As his body shape began to change, at the age of 18, he ordered a video camera and began documenting his own fitness journey on his YouTube vlog, which he created in March 2012, during his freshman year. Apart from showcasing his developing physique, he also often shared tips and tricks about fitness that he had picked up along the way. His videos were so detailed and authentic that sometimes they became tedious, but this genuineness and authenticity soon attracted a huge number of fans to his channel. While it was not overnight success, by 2015 he had gathered over 300k subscribers to his YouTube channel, and was featured in an article on Bodybuilding.com titled '300,000 People Watch Every Time He Trains!' This skyrocketed interest in his YouTube channel, which now has 826K subscribers, and his Instagram profile, which boast of over 1 million followers.
Christian Guzman, who thinks that "people like following a journey", has been motivated by his subscribers to keep challenging himself and progress continuously. This also means that he never gets a day off: to maintain transparency, he vlogs regularly, documenting his successes as well failures. This also motivates him to stay positive to inspire his fans. As he doesn't disconnect his personal life from his online presence, he thinks that his YouTube vlogging has become more akin to reality television shows, but with one significant difference: instead of leading a frivolous life dedicated to bars and drinking, he focuses on becoming a better version of himself.
While YouTube changed his life goals entirely, ever since Christian Guzman succeeded in building his dream physique, he always wanted to hold weekly training classes to train younger kids and take them through workouts. He also dreamed of opening a small facility to begin his own coaching sessions. However, YouTube gave him a bigger and larger platform to share his knowledge with the world. Nevertheless, that has not taken his eyes off his goals. He later opened his personal warehouse and the Alphalete Gym in Houston, Texas, and has been selling his fitness and lifestyle products through the company Alphalete Athletics.
