Chase Gilroy was always interested in photography and filmmaking, and has had a huge fascination for electronic gadgets. Before taking up YouTube, Chase was into a conventional office job. He pursued photography as a hobby and shot pics only in his spare time. Things started changing when he began watching videos on YouTube. This was induced even further by his brother-in-law, Roman Atwood, who is a well-known YouTuber. Chase instantly liked the concept of filming funny videos and posting on YouTube. He was also excited by the fact that a career in YouTube will not only bring popularity but also get good money.
Chase was inspired by the kind of content Roman posted on his self-titled YouTube channel that has now crossed 10 million subscribers. Roman offered Chase to work with him as a camera person. Chase accepted the offer without any second thoughts, and began filming prank videos for Roman’s channel. He learned a lot working with Roman and also started featuring in Roman’s videos.
By now, he had made up his mind to explore YouTube as he loved the idea of making money by playing pranks on people. He created his first YouTube channel in the beginning of 2014 and named it ‘Gilroy Vlogs,’ but Chase never restricted the channel only to prank videos. He added a variety of content like daily vlogging, travel diaries, Christmas vlogs, DIYs, challenge videos, story time videos and other stuff. With a lot of variety in his content, he entertained a large number of audiences which further contributed to the huge viewership. Thereafter, Chase left his full-time job and took to YouTube. Now, he regularly posts videos on the channel.
After sometime, Chase created another channel, ‘Gilroy Reviews and How To's,’ which is a channel for gizmo freaks. Chase reviews and demonstrates newly launched gadgets and keeps his fans updated of the latest. However, this channel is yet to gather pace.
Chase is active on the live video community, ‘Twitch,’ where he often conducts live question and answer sessions. He has even used Twitch for his virtual meet and greets with his fans.
